Ever since we launched our Kickstarter campaign about a week ago, we’ve been so humbled and excited by everything people have said. At more than double our funding goal, here’s a taste of what everyone has to say about our new Nomiku! And ICYMI, here’s some more from the debut of our campaign.
TechCrunch was at Nomiku HQ and got to see our new wi-fi connected Nomiku first-hand the day we launched our campaign and wrote an excellent article about why and how we plan on manufacturing the new Nom here in the United States.
Also included in our press day was Ars Technica! They give a great glimpse into what happened on our launch day as well as a thorough background of the sous vide scene over the past few years.
Rounding out our press day was Mashable, who gave us a straight-forward feature about our new Nomiku’s design changes and hopes for the product!
We’re big fans of The Hundreds and were so excited to be mentioned in their blog. Also love the nod to our first generation Nomiku–our inaugural product that Kickstarter helped make possible as well!
Brit + Co. has been a loyal supporter of ours, saying we’re among their “…new fave high-tech kitchen gadgets that allows home chefs to easily sous-vide their way to a five-star meal from the comfort of their own kitchen.” Check out more of what they have to say about us!
CNET had already done a great preview piece for us during our first couple days and followed up with a great video about the new Nom shot right here at Nomiku HQ! Was awesome to be around all the lights and cameras ;)
Gizmag gets into the nitty-gritty of new Nom’s features, including the wi-fi and the heating power, two differences we’re super proud of in our new iteration.
This was a follow-up piece from Digital Trends who did a great review of our first-gen Nomiku. They also said one of our favorite things about us so far: “Nomiku 2.0 is essentially a smaller, smarter, cheaper, and overall better version of the original — a product that was already one of the best sous-vide cookers on the market.” :)
PSFK’s piece is also a follow-up from a previous interview with Chief Designer Wipop Bam Suppipat. The same writer interviewed Bam again about what we’ve learned as a hardware startup, now crowdfunding our second project.
We also got a brief, but very much appreciated shout-out from Swiss Miss herself! As a design-centric company, we’re glad to have caught her discerning and talented eyes!
We also got some local love from SF Eater! We’ve said it before and we’ll say again and again–we’re so lucky to live in city so full of passion, support, and ingenuity for the food community!
And we’ve gotten some amazing feedback and shout-outs from Twitter as well, from the likes of the ICC (where cofounder and Chief Designer Bam graduated from), to SF Magazine, to wonderful Top Chef judge and restaurateur Chef Hugh Acheson!
We’re really feeling the love and the support and we are so incredibly grateful. We’re looking forward to the next three weeks of our campaign with you!
