We have solved all the steam issues with the power of magnets and can confidently go ahead with production! After we hear back from the testing regulators we should be able to put together a production and delivery schedule so that you can finally have Nomikus. Because we made a design change to fix our steam issue we’ve been delayed (new piece of tooling, etc) in submitting for our 1,000 hr test.
While we wait for UL testing to finish, we will work with our factory on all the issues that can affect production of any — but especially a new – machine, including dealing with regulatory issues and rules, final tooling modification, and assembly (we expect to produce 100 a day once we get going). We’ve also been finalizing our assembly fixtures for mass production this month. The assembly fixtures are what workers use to put together Nomiku with ease and precision.
To speed along the process, we’re working with a partner to help with the UL issues and strategize the best ways to combine or accelerate all necessary tests. We also have the brass heatsinks for Canada and have ordered the new components for the 240V (international) Nomiku. We will run our own life testing on those parts, and if significant changes aren’t required we will submit 240V units for testing by the end of April.
We think you’ll be really happy with Nomiku’s performance when it arrives. We’ve increased the heater power to over 1000W, so it gets up to temp fast. It’s a lot of fun to cook with, and we really appreciate your continuing support for and patience with Nomiku’s development. We can’t wait to get it into your hands!
