By now, news has spread that Chick-Fil-A hates gays. In fact, they operate their company with an anti-love, heteronormative, and insensitive agenda according to The New York Times. We’re writing this delicious chicken post to provide a big gay alternative to Chick-Fil-A, but honestly, every time you eat something made with love you melt away a little bit of the hate in this world.
- 2 chicken breasts
- a preferred fresh herb pack, we picked one with oregano, rosemary, and parsley
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
Two parts water to one part rice. Add beans if desired.
- 1 pre-washed large bag of kale
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- small handful of almonds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
This is a straight up shake and cook recipe, make sure to start your rice before you start anything— especially if you’re adding beans, they take a little longer to soften. We put the chicken in a vacuum bag with hand shredded herbs. It gets topped off with salt and pepper. We give the bag a good shake, seal it, and put it in a 64° C water bath for an hour.
After the chicken comes out, dry the breasts on paper towels, peel off the herbs, and give it a flash sear in olive oil.
The sous vided herbs are great for a quick aioli. Just mix 1/2 cup of mayo and 1/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil with the herb leaves in a processor (food pro, magic bullet, etc). It tastes amazing over the chicken.
Start the kale by browning garlic in olive oil with your favorite nut, we chose almonds but walnuts are a fantastic substitute. Now, put in the kale sliced lengthwise, also a little bit of the stock from the chicken bags will go a long way to add flavor.
The chicken was so juicy! It was a treat to luxuriate in such luscious nutrition and love.
